Between 2010 and 2015, the age-adjusted drug overdose death rate increased by 31%, from 12.4 per 100,000 in 2010 to 16.3 per 100,000 in 2015. The percentage of overdose deaths due to heroin and prescription opioids increased from 57% in 2010 to 73% in 2015.
