Kentucky Addiction Treatment Services For Medicaid Expansion Up 740% From 2014 To Mid-2016

Between January 2014 and mid-2016, the number of addiction treatment services for the Medicaid expansion population increased by 740%. During the first quarter of 2014, Kentucky’s Medicaid program covered 1,500 addiction treatment services for the expansion population. During the second quarter of 2016, the Medicaid program covered 11,000 addiction treatment services for the expansion population. In the traditional Medicaid population, the number of treatment services increased by 223% — from 1,268 during the first quarter of 2014 to 4,104 during the second quarter of 2016.
