16 States Allow Home Care Aides Only 40 Hours Per Week To Avoid Violating The DOL Home Care Rule
Sixteen U.S. states allow home health care aides to work only 40 hours per week to avoid violating the Department of Labor (DOL) Home Care Rule. These states include Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Iowa, Missouri, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wyoming. Thirty-two states allow home care aides to work more than 40 hours per week, but set a cap on the number of hours that can be worked without special permission.
