Medication Adherence Reduces ER & Inpatient Expenses By 34% For Complex SMI Consumers

Among consumers with schizophrenia and a comorbid cardiometabolic condition, those who took their antipsychotic medication and cardiometabolic medications as prescribed had annual health care expenses for emergency and inpatient care that were 34.3% lower than people who did not take one or both medications as prescribed.
