On-Line Doctor/Patient Communication Service Increases Satisfaction & Reduces Cost
On-line communication between doctors and their patients increases satisfaction and reduces cost of care. These are the preliminary findings of a large-scale independent study conducted by researchers at Stanford University and University of California, Berkeley. The study, funded by RelayHealth Corporation, evaluated the impact of communication service on satisfaction among patients and physicians, and on the cost of care, including costs incurred by payers who reimburse doctors for "webVisits" -- on-line, structured doctor/patient consultations.
