Georgia Selects Amerigroup As Medicaid MCO For Children In Child Welfare System
On July 22, 2013, the Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) announced that it had selected Amerigroup Community Care, one of the state's Medicaid care management organizations (CMO), for a $200 million annual contract to provide specialized managed care statewide for about 27,000 children, youth and young adults in foster care; children and youth receiving adoption assistance; and certain youth involved in the juvenile justice system. Currently these children are served through fee-for-service Medicaid.
