Three-Fourths of Homeless Adults Have Unmet Health Needs

Nearly three-fourths (73%) of 970 homeless adults surveyed reported having at least one unmet health need. About a fifth (21%) were unable to obtain mental health care, 32% were unable to obtain needed medical or surgical care, 36% were unable to obtain prescription medications, 41% said they were unable to obtain eyeglasses, and another 41% were unable to access dental care.
