IRS to Revoke Tax-Exempt Status of 300,000 Organizations
On February 24, 2011, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announced plans to publish its Nonfiler Revocation List with the names of organizations that have had their federal tax-exempt status revoked for failure to file Form 990 for 2007, 2008, and 2009. A hard publication date was not released; on March 23, 2011, an IRS spokesperson confirmed for OPEN MINDS that publication is expected soon, but gave no target date or month.
