Depression and Heart Disease Linked in Women

Depression in older women is strongly linked with a higher risk of dying from heart disease, according to research on more than 90,000 women. Researchers found that depressed but otherwise healthy post-menopausal women faced a 50% higher risk of dying from heart disease during four years of follow-up medical care than women who were not depressed.
