Texas Foster Care Redesign to Implement Blended Case Rates
In January 2011, the Texas Department of Family Protective Services (DFPS) released its plans to redesign their foster care system. The plan calls for the state to implement competitive contracting and blended case rates that provide incentives to serve children with less intensive services. A competitively selected Single Source Continuum Contractor (SSCC) would coordinate services for a full continuum of care in each regional catchment area. DFPS anticipates having the initial SSCC contract in place by the winter of 2012.
