Oss Consumers are ahead of payers and professionals in their interest for new treatment technologies – particularly the convenience and improved outcomes those new technologies can offer (see For Tech-Enabled Consumer Health Education, Engagement = Success and Technology is Raising Consumer Expectations). Professionals seem to be more resistant to integrating new technology into treatment, and payers have been relatively slow in evaluating and approving tech-assisted treatment for payment.
