Thinking About Cancer As A Chronic Condition

I was saddened on August 20, 2015 when former President Jimmy Carter announced he had brain cancer – and really surprised on December 6, 2015 when he announced he was cancer free. It made me reflect on how many people in my life are “cancer survivors” (defined as individuals who live more than five years after the initial cancer diagnosis).
