The State ‘Crazy Quilt’ Of Opioid Treatment Policy
Last week, we looked at the federal government's new funding and new policies in response to the wave of opioid addiction (see How Far Does $3.3 Billion Go?). The U.S. Congress has allocated $3.3 billion in funding, the President has established new programs, and several federal agencies have launched new initiatives—all with the goal of addressing the growing problems of opioid dependence and drug-related mortality rates.
But the federal government isn't alone in trying new approaches to this massive problem . . .
