How Significant Are New Opportunities To Serve Veterans?
We have reported on the potential for increased opportunities for community service providers as a result of Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) health care reform efforts (see Congressional Action Shaping The Future Of VA Health Care). The recently signed VA reform bill allocates an additional $15 billion to the VA over the next three years — $5 billion to hire additional VA physicians and medical staff, and $10 billion to augment VA capacity with non-VA delivered health care in cases where a veteran lives more than 40 miles from a VA facility or cannot get an appointment within 30 days . . .
