Primary Care Practice Readiness For Medical Homes
Last week, we wrote about the recent study that found that primary care practices overall were not doing much with depression screening — What’s With The 4.2%?. The findings are important for thinking about the “on-the-ground” realities of integrating consumer behavioral health management into their primary care delivery.
While I was surprised by the depression screening results, I was less surprised by (but certainly not happy with) the survey findings that only 68% of primary care practices are prepared to manage social needs for consumers. And less than half are prepared to coordinate services with social service . . .
