When Elephants Fight…

"When elephants fight, it is the grass that suffers." I think about this African adage when I look at planning for the next three to four years in the health and human service field. We are in the midst of great – and yet unknown – change due to the banking crisis, the recession, parity legislation, and the pending implementation of health care reform. These are the 'elephants' in our world. Whatever ‘new normal’ emerges, all organizations in the field are going to need to adjust accordingly.
