Why Is It So Hard To Get Health & Human Service Organizations To Try Something New?
My past two weeks have been filled with moments of both promise and frustration. The promise? The emerging consumer treatment technologies that are coming to market. Telehealth solutions, consumer treatment algorithms, online CBT, robots, neurotech, genetic screening tools, medications, and more. The frustration? The lack of movement by professionals and provider organizations in the field to adopt these technologies. In the past week, I've had discussions with health plan executives who are now paying for telehealth, but can't provider organizations to provide the services; with a provider organization manager who lamented that their clinical staff "won't" use . . .
