How Far Does $3.3 Billion Go?
The omnibus spending bill, approved by Congress in March, included an allocation of $3.3 billion to address the opioid and mental health crisis in fiscal year 2018 (see Appropriations For Fiscal Year 2018). This appropriation builds on the 21st Century Cures Act—an Obama era bill that provided $1 billion in funding over two years.
