Evolving The ‘Treatment Model’
Last week I read an interesting article about the Hearing Voices Network (HVN) in The New York Times that I have been mulling over. The article, An Alternative Form Of Mental Health Care Gains A Foothold, described HVN as a consumer-directed self-help model of care that is “largely nonmedical, focused on holistic recovery rather than symptom treatment, and increasingly accessible through an assortment of in-home services, residential centers and groups.”
