The Health ID Card: A Double-Edged Sword
A few days ago, I wrote about the concept of data liberation and the proposal by Herb Quinde, Director, Public Sector of Microsoft at The 2014 OPEN MINDS Technology & Informatics Institute to create a universal U.S. health ID card (see Stop Integrating Data & Start Liberating Data). Such a card includes a discreet set of consumer data that would then be “ubiquitous” to all health care interactions.
