One Hospital’s Readmission Penalty Is Someone’s Opportunity

Our team has been tracking the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) readmission penalties closely. October 1 was "D-Day" on a number of fronts. Starting on that date, Medicare reimbursements were reduced by 1% for those hospitals with high 30-day readmission rates for patients with heart attack, heart failure, or pneumonia.
