Bus Therapy?
Heard of bus therapy? If you look up the "official" definition, it refers to a practice in managing prisons by transferring prisoners from one institution to another – purportedly to keep them away from their property, family, or friends. But in health and human services, "bus therapy" has come to mean something similar but different. In a country like ours where the availability (both cost and access) of health and human services can be quite dependent on your location, bus therapy has become the phrase that refers to moving consumers to a different geographic location in order to reduce the cost . . .
