“Big” Isn’t Strategy Or Positioning
In the midst of a rush of mergers in health and human services (many of them for very good reasons), I do want to point out that being big, alone, is not a strategy for sustainability. And, "being big" is not positioning in a market unless it is coupled with something else (like WalMart, for example, which combines being big with the lowest prices).
