The U.S. Addictions Treatment Market: 22.2 Million With Addiction Issues & $24 Billion In Annual Spending

In 2009, the United States spent $24.3 billion on addiction treatment. Public payers accounted for the vast majority of spending (69%) at $16.7 billion, while private payers (including private insurance, out-of-pocket spending, and other private spending) accounted for 31% ($7.6 billion).
