The Management Implications Of Changing Reimbursement
This issue has a two-pronged focus – an update on recent developments in payment reform and a review of the implications of the various forms of reimbursement on management competencies and practices. The combination of state budget pressures and provisions of the Patient Protection & Affordable Care Act (PPACA) have created a push over the past few years to abandon fee-for-service (FFS) reimbursement of provider organization – and replace FFS reimbursement with a variety of “value-based” reimbursement models with financial risk and/or performance-based reimbursement.
