The Madonna hit from the ‘80s, “I am a material girl living in a material world” crept into my subconscious when I was thinking about how we are each called upon to be a digital leader because you know that “we are living in a digital world.” The pandemic sent health and human services headlong into a “digital first” world and most executives learned to adapt quickly, along with their staff, consumers, payers, and other stakeholders. And of course, we all know that lockdowns or not, digital is the way most health care—and in fact most of life . . .
