Catholic Charities of Worcester County has named Timothy McMahon their new executive director in the wake of his predecessor’s retirement in August, 2016.
Mr. McMahon was previously the associate director for Rhode Island Department of Human Services, and has served as both undersecretary for administration in the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development in Massachusetts, deputy commissioner for the Massachusetts Department of industrial Accidents, and was chief operating officer of the Massachusetts Lottery Commission. Past positions with University of Massachusetts Medical School round out his list of professional qualifications. In the social services arena, he served on the board of directors for Youth Opportunities Upheld (YOU) Inc., an organization dedicated to the welfare and behavioral health of at-risk children, adolescents, and families.
Catholic Charities of Worcester County operates under the belief that every person has the right to basic human needs including life, housing, food, shelter, clothing, and health care, and that all should be enabled to participate in the decisions that vitally affect them. The organization is committed to meeting the needs of the poor, the homeless and the infirm and to enhancing the quality of life for all.
