Western Connecticut Health To Merge With Hudson Valley Hospital System

Western Connecticut Health Network recently announced plans to merge with Health Quest System in Hudson Valley. The merger—which is planned to take place in 2019—will create a $2.4 billion health system.

The resulting new non-profit system would include seven hospitals, 12,000 employees, and serve about 1.5 million individuals. According to details of the merger, John Murphy—the current president and CEO of Western Connecticut Health—would become the CEO of the newly formed system.
