University Hospitals & Anthem Announce New ACO

University Hospitals (UH) in Cleveland, Ohio, and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield announced the creation of a new accountable care organization (ACO) designed to serve members of Anthem's Medicare Advantage plan. UH is the second-largest employer in Northeast Ohio, and UH’s ACOs serve more than 270,000 self-insured, commercially insured, Medicare and Medicaid members and their beneficiaries. This new arrangement is the UH’s tenth ACO program.
