Timberlawn Psychiatric Hospital Is Closing Before The State Can Shut It down

Timberlawn Psychiatric Hospital recently announced that it will be shutting down. The announcement comes one week after Texas state officials threatened to shut the hospital down after a review deemed it unsafe for consumers.

While the hospital appears to still be accepting new consumers, it is expected that its doors will close on February 1, 2018. Currently, only 15 of the hospital’s 144 are filled. Despite the state’s threats to shut down the hospital, Timberlawn officials have provided other reasons for the closure, including decreased patient population and increasing availability of beds at other facilities.
