Siemens’ Health-Care Division Spin-Off Effort
In an effort to sharpen its business focus to a core portfolio, Siemens AG announced plans to spin off its $15 billion health-care division. As the largest portfolio revamp in its history, the company hopes to narrow its focus to its core business areas of energy, transport, and factory gear. Siemens hopes that the health-care division will be publicly owned by 2020. While scope and timing is yet to be announced, the company seeks to list the asset in the near future.
