Radiant Life Care (Radiant)—a developer and manager of health care facilities that is backed by leading global investment firm KKR—recently announced it is acquiring Max Healthcare. Abhay Soi will lead the combined company as its Chairman.
The transaction comes as Radiant has acquired a majority stake in Max Healthcare from hospital operator Life Healthcare. The purchase will see Max India de-merging its two non-health care related businesses—Max Bupa and Antara Senior Living—into a new wholly owned subsidiary of Max India. Mr. Soi commented that the acquisition marks a step forward for Radiant’s strategy of increasing its scale by merging with a leading and complementary hospital network. The resulting merger will create North India’s largest hospital network, and fourth largest hospital network in all of India in regards to number of operating beds.
Radiant Life Care Private Limited was set up in 2000 for the purpose of developing, redeveloping, managing, and operating health care facilities. Max Healthcare is India’s leading providers of world class health care services, with more than 2,300 clinical professionals and a network of 14 hospitals in India.
