Pathways to Recovery, a Philadelphia area facility that treats people addicted to opioids who also have a co-occurring mental health condition serves as the city’s first partial hospitalization program for addiction treatment. The facility was established in October 2016, and offers a successful model for replication.
Run by the Public Health Management Corporation with funding from Community Behavioral Health, the program integrates mental health and addiction treatment in a 20-hours-per-week structured program. It provides individual, group, and family therapy, and employs peer recovery specialists who do outreach to keep people coming to treatment, and is equipped to use medication assisted treatment.
