The Pathfinder Village will expand its school after receiving two anonymous gifts totaling $2.2 million. The Pathfinder Village is a residential community in Otsego County, New York which provides services for people with autism, down syndrome, and other intellectual and developmental disabilities. The funding will be used for various projects, including renovations of existing classrooms and the creation of a new integrated preschool.
The preschool will accommodate up to 24 students with varying abilities. Construction is expected to start in spring 2020 and will be completed by fall 2020. The Pathfinder Village can also accommodate students from the surrounding area when school districts are unable to meet the students’ needs.
