This position is responsible for developing and executing the marketing and business development strategies necessary to achieve organizational revenue and growth objectives in the payer, provider, and investor sectors of the market.

I. Responsibilities of the Vice President, Business Development include:

A. Develop and manage the annual strategy and budget to achieve OPEN MINDS revenue objectives in the payer, provider, and investor sectors of the market

B. Create and maintain relationships with current and potential target customers (at conference, via web meeting, etc.) – and develop creative solutions to their needs for market intelligence and management advice and assistance

C. Build and maintain relationships with OPEN MINDS team of senior associates, subject matter experts, and advisory board members for the purpose of identifying prospective new customers and projects by building on their industry knowledge

D. Plan and manage lead generation activities as required in the annual strategy and budget

E. Construct detailed proposals to current and potential target customers – project scope descriptions, level of effort and pricing models, proposal documents, and/or presentations as required

F. Evaluate related new opportunities as they arise

G. Prepare contracts for customer engagements

H. Manage the team of OPEN MINDS associates working on marketing and business development in the payer, provider, and investor sectors of the market

I. Maintain a deep understanding of OPEN MINDS services and value propositions – and participate in the organizational planning activities of the OPEN MINDS executive team

J. Other duties as required

A. Director, Consulting Practice Business Development
B. Marketing Assistant
C. Interns, as applicable

IV. To perform this role successfully, an individual should demonstrate well-developed competencies in the following areas:

A. Demonstrated business development experience at the c-suite level in the health and human service field
B. Demonstrated ability to develop de novo proposals and presentations using standard software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
C. Problem solving skills – the ability to understand customer problems and design customized solutions
D. Ability to collaborate with team members at all levels with OPEN MINDS and within our customer organizations
E. Previous production and people management experience
F. Great communication skills – oral and written

V. Key performance outcomes for the Vice President of Business Development:

A. Meet the corporate revenue goals for the market sector by creating and executing a strategic and tactical marketing and business development plan

B. Develop relationships with executives of current and prospective customers in the targeted sectors of the health and human service field – bringing industry insights to the OPEN MINDS executive team

C. Develop relationships with the OPEN MINDS team – executive team members, marketing team members, and consulting team members – to assure successful execution of management consultation projects

VI. Skills, experience, and education required for this position include:

A. Five or more years of experience in marketing, business development, consulting, or account management in the health and human service field
B. At least two years of management experience
C. At least two years of sales experience
D. Demonstrated ability to conceptualize customer management problems and develop solution-oriented proposals
E. Proficiency using computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, E-mail, and Internet research services
F. Superior writing and verbal communication skills
G. Superior organizational, planning, and decision-making skills, with the ability to track and manage multiple tasks and multiple deadlines
H. Visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading
I. Ability to travel throughout the continental United States, on an as-needed basis
J. Ability to travel unattended
K. Vehicle and valid current driver’s license required
L. Ability to lift 35 pounds without assistance
M. Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time, as well as bending and lifting from a sitting or standing position
N. Ability to use a personal credit card for occasional purchases on behalf of the organization
O. College degree in a business-related field strongly preferred

Preference for position based in our Gettysburg, PA main office, but will consider candidates within a 150 mile radius. Frequent travel to the Gettysburg office required.
