North Dakota Program Aims To Revamp Supports For Former Inmates

Lawmakers in North Dakota have approved $7.5 million for the Community Behavioral Health Program, an initiative that aims to transform the state's behavioral and health services support systems. The program is being tested in the cities of Fargo, Bismarck, Dickinson, and Devil's Lake.

The aim of the program is to reduce incarceration and recidivism rates, provide more effective mental health and addiction abuse treatment, and keep offenders employed, in stable housing, and focused on recovery.
