Based in Houston, Texas, Nobilis Health (Nobilis), which has experienced difficulties in the past year, closed two facilities. Nobilis announced that it closed the Surgeons’ Premier Medical Center facility in Sugar Land, Texas and the Scottsdale Liberty Hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona. Both closures were effective September 13, 2019.
The Surgeons’ Premier Medical Center is not listed as a location on Nobilis’ website, but the website lists the “Hospital for Surgical Excellence (of OakBend Health System)” at the same address that the Texas Department of State Health Services lists for Surgeons’ Premier Medical Center. Additionally, Nobilis had a 75 percent ownership interest in the Scottsdale Liberty Hospital, which had two operating rooms.
In early September 2019, Nobilis also saw two c-suite level executives step down. Brandon Moreno, former chief financial officer, and Marissa Arreola, chief legal officer, resigned effective September 6, 2019.
Founded in 2007, Nobilis Health is a full-service health care development and management company, with more than 30 locations across Texas and Arizona, including hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and multi-specialty clinics. In addition, Nobilis Health partners with more than 30 facilities across the country. Marketing nine independent brands, Nobilis Health deploys a unique consumer acquisition strategy driven by proprietary, direct-to-consumer marketing technology, focusing on a specified set of procedures that are performed at the centers by local physicians.
