New York Establishes Bureau Of Social Determinants Of Health

The Office of Health Insurance Programs (OHIP) recently announced the establishment of the Bureau of Social Determinants of Health within the Division of Program Development and Management (DPDM). The new bureau will be fully dedicated to working on the social determinants of health (SDH) and investing into supportive housing.

The new bureau will focus its work on SDH initiatives, including supportive housing, nutrition, and education. The bureau will also work closely with Performing Provider Systems (PPS), value-based purchasing contractors, health plans, and provider organizations.
