Director of Nebraska’s Corrections department has announced that he has appointed Alice Mitwaruciu as a new behavioral health administrator. Ms. Mitwaruciu has been serving as the acting administrator since August and has worked at the Beatrice State Development Center for two years before taking a position in correctional services as a clinical psychologist at the Lincoln Correctional Center in January 2014. She had been promoted to the assistant for mental health services and oversaw mental health and violent offender services while providing clinical and administrative supervision for all mental health staff.
Ms. Mitwaruciu received a bachelor of divinity from St. Paul’s University in Kenya and a master of education from the University of Idaho-Moscow with a specialty in counseling and human services and a master’s in counseling psychology from the University of Utah-Salt Lake City. She received her doctorate from the University of Utah. She will be paid $138,000 annually. She replaces Lisa Jones, who resigned in August amid an investigation into her alleged “over-familiarity” with a parolee.
