Minnesota Nursing Homes Launch Improvement Initiatives Through $6.7 Million State Grants

The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) announced that $6.7 million in Performance-based Incentive Payment Program (PIPP) grants will benefit 28 nursing homes and 10 nursing home collaboratives throughout the state. PIPP grants will allow the sites to improve conditions for more than 9,500 residents, and improve employee retention rates. Under the PIPP program, nursing homes sign contracts with DHS to earn higher payments for implementing projects designed to make improvements in key areas that they identify. The funding is for the next one to two years.
