MetLife To Gain 35 Million Members With Versant Health Acquisition
MetLife has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Versant Health, a managed vision care company, from an investor group led by Centerbridge Partners. Versant Health provides a wellness vision network, utilization management, and medical claims review through its Davis Vision and Superior Vision product lines. Following the acquisition, MetLife will gain access to Versant Health’s roughly 35 million members, and will become the third-largest U.S. vision insurer by membership. The acquisition is an approximately $1.675 billion, all-cash transaction.
