Lyfebulb LLC (Lyfebulb) and UnitedHealth Group (UnitedHealth) recently selected 11 Patient Entrepreneur finalists to compete in their “Empower Patients: An Innovation Challenge” contest. The challenge recognizes “top patient entrepreneurs” developing innovative ideas for better management of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) using health care information technology, medical devices, consumer products, and services.

From here, each finalist will attend the Challenge in Minnetonka, Minnesota later this month, hosted at the UnitedHealth Group headquarters. There, three of the 11 finalists will be awarded prizes of $25000, $15,000, or $10,000 depending on their placement.
