Lowell-Based Mental-Health Center Shutting Its Doors

Arbour Health System’s (Arbour) mental health treatment center in Greater Lowell is shutting its doors as of February 9th. The decision comes in the wake of the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Partnership (MBHP) ending its contract with the center.

The reason cited by MBHP for the ending of the contract was concerns over quality. Additionally, the Department of Mental Health found reported in 2017 that the facility exhibited issues involving consumer safety, as well as issues pertaining to the cleanliness of the facility—causing the facility to put a halt on new admissions.
