Lantern recently announced the launch of their new online platform, a single point solution that provides consumers with online tools and resources to help them navigate all aspects of the end-of-life and death process. The mission of Lantern is to ensure that every individual who is going through the end-of-life process can easily access the resources, websites, books, and services needed to cover every phase of the challenging end-of-life process.
According to Elizabeth Eddy, co-founder and chief executive officer of Lantern, the organization is able to support consumers throughout the entire end-of-life process, from pre-planning to post-funeral (e.g., navigating account closures and cancellations; finding grief counseling services in an individual’s surrounding community; practicing self-care after experiencing a loss). A consumer’s length of engagement can vary depending on each individual’s circumstances, ranging from a few weeks to a few months.
Lantern’s services are available nationwide and are currently offered at no cost to consumers; this includes customized checklists, articles, a chat feature with a live person to answer questions, and other related resources. However, over the next few months, Lantern will continue to produce new products, as well as a premium subscription option.
Lantern, which launched September 2019, is a mission driven for-profit company seeking to assist grieving families by providing a single point, online solution for the end-of-life and death process. Lantern helps consumers navigate the challenging process with step-by-step guidance through articles, checklists, a chat feature, among other online tools and resources. The company understands that the process is overwhelming and has made it their mission to ensure every grieving person has a simple, trustworthy, comprehensive place to turn.
