On January 9, 2020, Jackson House Temecula, a mental health and addictive-disease residential treatment center in California, hosted an open house for the new facility slated to open in February 2020. Residents, members of the county health care community, and local government leaders were invited to tour the Temecula facility. The facility will provide short-term treatment that will serve as an alternative to, or continuation of, inpatient psychiatric hospitalization in an environment that is more home-like and recovery oriented.

Jackson House Temecula is an affiliated member of the Alvarado Parkway Institute Behavioral Health System (APIBHS). The president and chief development officer for the latter believes Southwest Riverside County residents have little to no services for mental health and addiction care. According to Patrick Ziemer, chief executive officer of APIBHS, a number of residents of the southern Riverside County currently seek treatment from the emergency department when they are in need of mental health or addiction treatment services, which significantly increases the cost of services.

Jackson House will be a voluntary, short-term, 24-hour recovery-based program where residents can receive treatment that includes practicing real-world recovery therapies and performing daily household activities, along with learning basic living and social/interpersonal skills to successfully transition back into the community. As a 5,500-square-foot facility with 16 beds, the Jackson House will offer semi-private rooms, and features large group rooms, a computer lab, as well as private meeting rooms.

As part of the Alvarado Parkway Institute Behavioral Health System, Jackson House is a short-term, voluntary residential program is built around evidence-based treatment. Jackson House offers individual and group therapy, medication management, 24/7 nursing, peer support specialists, case management, discharge coordination, community linkage, and a 60-day aftercare program.
