Humana, UnitedHealthcare Launch Blockchain Pilot Focused On Provider Directories
Humana, UnitedHealthcare, and Optum are partnering to oversee a new pilot program focused on providing directories for provider organizations. Specifically, the three organizations will be leading efforts to utilize blockchain technology in improving the accuracy of provider organization demographic data.
The combined effort believes that by improving the aforementioned demographic data, that about $2.1 billion in annual administrative costs by provider organizations can be avoided.
