First-Ever Guideline For Recognizing & Managing Depression With Mixed Features Released
An international panel of experts has made a recommendation that adults with a major depressive episode (MDE) and mixed features be treated with antipsychotics rather than antidepressants. This is a new guideline for such individuals who have traditionally been treated with antidepressants without consideration of accompanying diagnosis. The guideline was published in the April edition of Cambridge University's CNS Spectrums, a theme issue devoted to mixed features in mental disorders.
