On October 30, 2019, four leading behavioral health provider organizations in Arkansas announced that they have signed a letter of intent to form an integrated behavioral health system. The new non-profit organization, Arisa Health, will bring together the professional clinical staff and services of Counseling Associates, Mid-South Health Systems, Ozark Guidance, and Professional Counseling Associates. Arisa Health will serve 41 counties throughout the northern half of the state.
Laura H. Tyler, Ph.D., LPC, president and chief executive officer of Ozark Guidance, has been selected to lead the new organization because of her significant experience, knowledge, and reputation within the industry. The governing board of each organization approved the letter of intent because they share a similar mission and support the universal benefits to clients, families, and communities that come from combining resources. Such benefits include ensuring access to community-based comprehensive behavioral health care services, sharing of ideas and innovative best practices, economies of scale, and a financially stronger and increasingly sustainable organization.
As a result of the merger, employees will be able to collaborate with a larger pool of professional peers across the network. Additionally, leadership is aiming to ensure a seamless transfer of operations and integration of workforce through the merger process; the merger is expected to be finalized in early 2020.
