Former Mission District Parking Lot Transformed Into Navigation Center For Homeless
A former district parking lot in Mission, California was recently transformed into a navigation center for individuals who are homeless. While homeless shelters temporarily shelter people, navigation centers help to relocate individuals who are homeless off of the streets and into permanent housing.
Residents at navigation centers are allotted up to 30 days—or more, as needed—of stay, and are also able to leave their belongings at the center during that time period.
