North Carolina-based Evergreen Foundation’s (Evergreen) board of directors recently announced the foundation is providing more than $500,000 in funding to non-profit disability agencies. Thirteen specific agencies were selected, each of which provides programs for people with issues ranging from behavioral health and addiction disorder to intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
Some of the agencies and programs receiving funding include:
- Haywood Vocational Opportunities
- Life Challenge
- Southwestern Child Development
- Family Nurse Partnership program
- Children’s Hope Alliance
- Meridian Behavioral Health, including its patient assistance program
The mission of the Evergreen Foundation (Evergreen) is to improve access to and educate the community on public awareness of quality prevention, treatment, and support services by the provider community to individuals and families with intellectual/developmental disabilities, behavioral health and/or addiction disorder needs. Evergreen serves Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Jackson, Macon, and Swain counties.
